FO Friday: Washcloths

Pattern: I'm A Soft Touch from Knitspot

Yarn: Ecobutterfly Organics Cotton Pakucho Sport in Golden Cafe

Needles: US Size 6

Started on: Mar. 25th

Finished on: Mar.26th

Comments/Modifications: This is from the Bare Naked Wools 2013 Club. I was in the mood to knit up something mindless and quick, so this fit the bill. I chose to knit Cloth B and C out of this yarn. When I first got this yarn, I actually wasn't too excited. I'm really not a fan of knitting with cotton.  Cotton doesn't have a lot of ease and is less forgiving. To me, it always feels a bit stiff and squeaky, it's by far not my favorite type of yarn. I probably only have one other skein of cotton in all my stash. I really only use cotton to make dishcloths. That being said, this Ecobutterfly Cotton was a lot softer than I expected. It didn't feel as rough on my hands. However, this yarn was very splitty. Even though both cloth patterns were mindless, I had to pay attention to my yarn to make sure it wasn't splitting.

Les Abeilles

Pattern: Les Abeilles from Knitspot

Yarn: Bare Naked Wools Breakfast Blend Fingering in Cream n' Sugar

Needles: US Size 4

Started on: Mar 8th

Finished on: Mar 23rd

Comments/Modifications: I knit the tallest size. It was challenging to cast on 300 + stitches. After the hem section, it knit up very quickly. The pattern is very addicting to knit. The yarn was soft and squishy to work with and I love the bare naked color ways.

WIP Wednesday: Les Abeilles Hem

I finished the hem of my Les Abeilles shawl. It should be smooth sailing from here on out with some wonderful mindless knitting.

Autumn Arbor

Pattern: Autumn Arbor from Knitspot

Yarn: The Woolen Rabbit Whisper in Black Velvet

Needles: US Size 5

Started on: December 6th 2011

Finished on: March 15th

Comments/Modifications: I knit the petite size. The only reason it took so long was because I kept getting distracted by other shiny yarns and patterns. I'm glad to finally get this off the needles. This wasn't a terribly difficult pattern, although there is patterning on both sides. It's easy to get into a rhythm after awhile. For whatever reason, it was very slow for me to knit and work on this.

This yarn was soft and lovely to work with. I love the color of this yarn. It reminds me of Dr. Pepper. I think the pattern and yarn look wonderful together. I can't wait to wear it out.

WIP Wednesday: new shawl

I started a new shawl over the weekend. It's Les Abeilles knit in Bare Naked Wools Breakfast Blend. I really love the way this yarn knits up. This shawl is quite addicting to work on. This is a bottom up shawl, so it starts off with casting on 300 + stitches. Once I was able to establish the first few rows, it's been smooth sailing (so far).

I swear I'm still working on my Autumn Arbor stole, but it's coming along slowly. Hopefully I can finish it up this month and finally free up my needles.

WIP Wednesday

Fall Line Scarf - I started a scarf in Malabrigo Silky Merino. This yarn is so soft and lovely to work with.

Autumn Arbor -  (no new photo) I'm now on the second half of the stole. This is still coming along slowly, but surely.
