FYA2

I was impatient and only knit the extension rows once. The shawl turned out to be much smaller then I would like. Oh well, this one will probably end up being gifted even though I really do like the pattern and how it looks.

Pattern: FYA2 designed by Ysolda Teague
Clues BBABB

Yarn: Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Baltic

Needles: US Size 6

Started on:  Jan 19th

Finished on: Feb. 25th

WIP Wednesday

I started my Duckies socks using sports weight Neeley's Knits in the dye-a-long color way. I think this will turn out well. I really love this pattern.

I'm still chugging along on my FYA2 shawl. I finished Option B of clue 5. So far I've knit BBABB.  I have a lot of yarn leftover and the shawl feels small to me, so I want to knit the extension rows. I'm not sure how many repeats of them I'm going to do yet. Or maybe I'll just keep knitting them until I feel the shawl is a good size. The rows are super long now, so I'm only knitting a few rows a night. So it will be awhile longer before I finish this one.

Date Night

I put on new Jamberry wraps tonight. This is Date Night. I like that it's simple and has a bit of a sparkle.

Things I'm Looking Forward to Right Now

Today's ten on Tuesday topic is 10 Things I'm Looking Forward to Right now.

1) A few upcoming weekend trips for various celebrations. I'm looking forward to seeing and spending time with family.

2) Both girls getting over their colds. They are both almost well...just a few more days I hope.

3) Lunar New Year and welcoming in the Year of the Sheep (I know it's Ram, but I like to say sheep as I love yarn and wool)

4) Spring is just around the corner! Although are weather has been quite lovely and warm lately. (I hope I'm not jinxing it)

5) Finishing my FYA2 shawl - the last clue was released today!

6) Knitting on my socks - after much casting on and frogging - I think I finally figured out two pairs of socks that will work the way I want. As in the pattern and yarn will look good together and will make me happy. Both socks should also allow for easy to knit while on the go, which is a must right now.

7) My birthday is also just around the corner. No matter how old I am... I think I will always enjoy celebrating my birthday.

8) My SIL's Wedding which will be later this year! I'm so excited and happy for her!

9) Putting on new Jamberry Wraps! It's fun and exciting to see how the new wraps will look on my nails. It brightens my day to look at my nails.

10) Both girls turning a year older. They are growing up fast, but I very much enjoy celebrating big milestones with them.

Valentine's Day

In honor of Valentine's Day, I put on new Jamberry Wraps. It's hard to get a good photo of them because they are so shiny. This wrap is called Heart Attack. I really love hearts and how they look, Valentine's Day or not.

WIP Wednesday: Blue

 Everything I'm knitting is blue.

FYA2 - I finished Clue 4B. It actually went pretty quickly. I'm really liking how this is turning out. There's only one clue left. So it will be interesting to see how this shawl will turn out.

Cowl - I realized that I really enjoy wearing cowls. Nothing tight or constraining around the neck, but more like a small infinity scarf. After knitting Honey cowl, I realized I really don't like knitting cowls in the round. So I searched rav for some cowls that are knit flat. I couldn't find any that I really liked. So I gave up on that and decided to look through my Barbara Walker Knitting Treasury for stitch patterns. I decided on Gothic Leaf pattern. I think it's turning out quite nicely. The yarn is Neeley's Knits in DK in Starry Night.

Gilmore Girls socks

I finished my Gilmore Girls socks! The yarn is Neeley's Knits sock yarn in Lorelai and Rory color way. I  cast on 72 stitches on size 1 US DPNs and knit K3, P1 ribbing. I did have a minor setback where I dropped a stitch and then put the socks in time out for a few months. I'm glad that I picked them back up and finished it. It's been raining the past few days here, so it's nice to have a new pair of socks on my feet.

FYA2 Clue 3A

I finished Follow Your Arrow 2 Clue 3A just in time for Clue 4 to be released on Monday. This one took a lot longer for me to knit only because the rows are starting to get long. Once again this clue, like each previous clue, included a new-to-me technique. This time it was the smocking stitch. I'm kind of in love with it. I really enjoyed knitting this clue more than the previous too. I also am loving how the smocking stitch looks. This yarn is pretty amazing too. Only two clues left!

Back on Track

Do you remember my Gilmore Girls socks? I had that devastating dropped stitch and so I put the sock in time out. This week I went back to re-visit it. I really want this sock to be done so I can wear it. So I sucked it up and frogged it back and re-knit. Now I'm at the point where I was before. And everything is back on track. I hope I can to finish these socks this week.

Boysenberry Chevron

Here are my new nail wraps that I just put on. This is Boysenberry Chevron.
