WIP Wednesday

I am absolutely in love with my new project.

I started this last week. It's Motte Shawl from Twist and Knit Collection 1. Motte means Moth in German. Yuck! I rather like to think of the pretty motif as butterflies flying. I've adored this pattern for a rather long time, but just didn't feel any of the yarns in my stash would do the pattern justice.

Recently, I bought yarn from Neeley's Knits, and I realized that this lovely DK BFL yarn was perfect for this pattern!  I love the combination! This is my first time working with BFL (I have some in my stash, but have never used it yet.). It's so soft and luxurious. I love this grey color with tiny hints of blue in it.

I also wound up yarn for my next knitting project for the Pendulum KAL! Yay! The official start date is tomorrow! I decided to use BMFA STR Lightweight yarn in the colorways A Hazy Shade of Blue (on the left) and Stonewash (on the right). I'm so excited and can't wait to start! I have my pattern printed out and my needles ready to go! I should probably read through the pattern again.

April Stats

I know it's a few days early, but I don't anticipate finishing anything else up this month. This month I finished one scarf and one shawl. The shawl is blocking as we speak and still needs to be blogged about. That will come later this week.

In total this month, I finished knitting 4 skeins of yarn/ 1,393 yards. That's not too bad. I spent a lot of this month planning and figuring out what I want to knit in the near future, instead of doing much actual knitting.

WIP Wednesday: Plugging Away

This week I've been monogamously knitting away on my Seraphim Shawl. I just started Chart # 2. I'm finally getting into the lacy sections of the shawl. It's hard to see any lace in the photo, but it's there. Hopefully, I can finish this one up soon.

FO Friday: Scrunchable Scarf

Pattern: Scrunchable Scarf from Knitlist

Yarn: Neeley's Knits Once Upon A Time Inspired Gradient in "I'll Get You, My Pretty"

Needles: US Size 7

Started on: April 14th

Finished on: April 17th

Comments: I cast on 33 stitches. This was a very quick knit. I love how squishy and soft the yarn is. I like the gradient effect from light green to dark green and all the little flecks interspersed.

WIP Wednesday: New Project

I started a new project this week.

Scrunchable Scarf - This is my new scarf on the needles using Neeley's Knits Once Upon A Time inspired "I'll get you, my pretty". I love the flecks of dark green interspersed. This is my current TV watching knitting.

WIP Wednesday: Summer Knitting

I know it's not summer yet, but the past couple days have been so hot here it feels like summer is already here. This type of weather makes me want to cast on all the projects. I love planning and matching patterns with yarn almost as much as actually knitting.

I cast on a new shawl with my new yarn from Neeley's Knits in the Breaking Bad Inspired yarn "Hindenburg".  I like how it's coming along so far. The rows are getting shorter and shorter.

WIP Wednesday: Mindless Knitting

The two projects I've been working on this past week are both mindless knitting.

Sheltie Square - I realize this looks like a beret or hat, but it's not. It's a blanket knit from the center outwards.

Seraphim - The bright colors in this yarn make me happy especially with all the dreary rain going on around here.
